About the College

The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social & Behavioral Sciences is the largest academic unit of the University. It is comprised of nineteen departments offering thirty-six undergraduate major programs in natural sciences, social sciences, 美术, performing arts and humanities. Seven graduate degree programs are available in such disciplines as the biological sciences, computer science, counseling psychology, 护理, and physician assistant medicine. The College assumes responsibility for most of the General Education Program curriculum required of all undergraduate students.

College of Arts, Humanities, and Social & Behavioral Sciences faculty are accomplished in their respective fields, demonstrated by extensive publications, performances, 奖助金, 荣誉, and awards.

College of Arts, Humanities, and Social & Behavioral Sciences occupies space in buildings across campus, including Dunkle Hall, the Fine Arts building, Guild Center, Gunter Hall, Lowndes Hall, 旧主, Performing Arts Center, the Gira Center, and the Compton Science Center. The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social & Behavioral Sciences Office of the Dean oversees course scheduling, budgeting, personnel, assessment, curriculum, and academic student concerns. This includes approving faculty evaluations and recommending renewal, 任期内, promotion, and sabbatical to the Provost. Additionally, the Office of the Dean supervises the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social & Behavioral Sciences Assessment Council and College of Arts, Humanities, and Social & Behavioral Sciences Curriculum Committee.
