Frostburg State University Breaks Ground on New Residence Hall

Frostburg State University officials, local dignitaries and design and construction directors broke ground for FSU’s new student residence hall today, at the Lower Quad site of the new building, a building that FSU President Ronald Nowaczyk said was “a long time in coming.”

学生宿舍, the first to be built at FSU in more than 40 years, is scheduled to be completed in 2020. 的六层, 125,000-square-foot hall will feature 431 beds arranged in residential units of two to four beds, with one to two bathrooms per units. 学生宿舍 project is being accompanied with extensive renovations of the five other halls in the Lower Quad, the newest of which was built in 1976. The first two, Annapolis and Cumberland halls, are currently under renovation.

“This addition helps to bolster aspects of campus that are important to both current Frostburg students in determining if they’ll stay here and prospective students in deciding whether to spend their post-secondary careers with us here as Bobcats,” said FSU Student Government Association President Benjamin Forrest. “居住生活 and the on-campus student experience are integral parts for our campus community becoming a home away from home and a place of comfort for hundreds of students each year.”
